Free Play Choices: Kitchen, play dough, blocks (talk about “making” while playing/introduce the word Creator in

conversations/repeat the Memory Work Q/As)

Word for the Day: Creator; To create means to make. A creator makes things. God is the creator. What did God make? How did God make things?

Memory Work:

Who made you?
(God)
What else did God
make?
(God made all things.)
Why did God make you
and all things?
(For his own glory)

Circle Time:

Name Song/Chant: 1-2 This is true. God made me and God made you. (Insert names!)

Manner Review: Your eyes here, listening ears, hands in lap.

Story: Show the Bible. Turn to Genesis 1. Let them touch the page. Tell the story.Emphasize all five senses. What did God make that we can see, hear, taste, touch, smell?

Group Activity: Have pictures of things God made (already cut out.) Practice taking turns. Allow each child to choose a picture to glue on a poster.

Songs: Twinkle, Twinkle; God is so Good (add verses with He made the …)                                                  He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands, Animal fun songs – like Old McDonald, etc

Quiet Time / Prayer Time:

Make this “fun/memorable.” And set the tone. Make them aware that they will do something like this every week. This is where we are trying to cement a “memorable” experience from/about the facts of the day. Consider making your own
“name” for this time. 

Pretend to sit under a tree outside in the morning. Pretend you are seeing/hearing/feeling/smelling things for the first time.  Ask children to speak slowly when they say, “Thank you God for …”
Pretend to be outside under the stars at night. Turn out the lights. Lay on the floor. Say, “Let’s praise God now. Praise is bragging on someone. What did you learn about God today? God you are …How would you complete this sentence… God, you are …”
